More security and more cloud in Windows Server 2019 Essentials

One of the biggest changes from previous versions is tighter integration with Microsoft Azure through Windows Server 2019 and Project Honolulu to create a hybrid cloud environment. In addition to central control via Project Honolulu, the current release also supports backups via Azure File Sync and Azure Backup.

Microsoft has also expanded the security options in Windows Server 2019. Support for Linux has also been improved, including the integration of Linux commands such as "tar" and "curl" into the command line. Additionally, Linux VMs in Windows Server 2019 are now protected with Shielded VMs.

The security pack is rounded off by the option of encrypting network traffic in virtual environments and the integration of Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP). This in turn protects against attacks whose definition files are not recognized by common virus scanners, for example "zero-day attacks".

Processor: at least 1.4 GHz, (single-core), at least 1.3 GHz (multi-core) - 3.1 GHz or more recommended (single and multi-core), maximum support of 2 CPU sockets
Memory: At least 2 GB of RAM (or 4 GB if Windows Server Essentials is deployed as a VM), 16 GB RAM recommended, 64 GB maximum support
Hard disk: at least 160 GB of hard disk space with a system partition with a capacity of at least 60 GB
